June 21, 2013 ~ I saw a man and his kids in the Kmart parking lot trying to give him away … I went over and explained to the dad about the bad things that can happen to small dogs given away for free like that and gave him one of my Bella’s Fund cards..I got a call back from his wife, they need to rehome him because they have too many pets. They are willing to keep him until we can find him a good home.. He is not neutered so we will have to take care of that.. He looks like a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix, very small, and was very scared to be standing on the curb with all the people walking by and the little kids yelling out “FREE DOG” over and over. I felt so sorry for him
So, I offered to help find a loving forever home for him.. His name is Jack, he is 7 yrs old and belonged to a disabled man before they got him. They have had him for 2 yrs.
I will have him neutered and any vetting he might need before he goes to his new home.
UPDATE: June 22, 2013 ~ The wife of the man I left my card with called me and asked for help finding Jack a new home. She agreed to keep him until I find a place for him.
UPDATE: June 23, 2013 ~ Dennis with Happy Tails Dachshund Rescue has agreed to take Jack. I will be picking him up and transporting down to him next Saturday.
UPDATE: June 29, 2013 ~ Jack is safe in the hands of Dennis and Mary with Happy Tails Dachshund rescue. He will be vetted soon and then up for adoption.
UPDATE: July 14, 2013 ~ Jack was adopted!
