UPDATE: June 21, 2013 via:Linda Sumrall Kelley – “Peanut had to go to the Vet today and get more fluid drawn from his belly about 2 lbs. Peanut is still hanging in there and eating very good! Our son will have to make a decision once his medications run out..the only thing is that he is still eating good. We just don’t know how a decision can be made with him still eating. It’s very hard to make….I wish he could have gotten the treatment done. Bama is doing great and pretty as ever he does not look like the same Doxie!! It breaks my heart about Peanut though and it’s to the point where I can’t look at him..he is so helpless but our son is doing all he can do for him. The vet is being super nice and draining at no charge right now..there is some out there that have a heart and he is certainly one of them. Please keep them in your prayers! Thank you again so much friends that donated to their cause….at least Bama got his treatment but very pitiful for Peanut!”

February 2013 ~ Both were HW+ and Bella’s Fund was contacted by their grandmother reaching out for help to get their treatments. She had set up a fundraiser for them but it wasn’t going well. So, we started promoting that for her and we had a Blanket Raffle to raise funds to help them.
Thanks to all of our supporters the funds were raised. Bama has had his treatments but Peanut has not been able to start his yet. He is an older doxie and his heart has already been damaged by the heartworms so he is not healthy enough yet to undergo treatments. He has been getting treatment for the heart condition in hopes he will soon be healthy enough to have his HW treatments.
