April 14, 2013 ~ Penelope was at the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter in CA on April 14… 6 yrs old, blind and diabetic she needed out ASAP. The wonderful Doxie Angel, Elaine Seamans, was working diligently trying to save her.
April 17..UPDATE! OUT OF THE SHELTER AND WITH FOSTER. Took her to the vet and learned of surprises. rotten teeth, hernia, not spayed which affects her diabetes. looking at $1200-$1700 in surgeries which is necessary for this little nugget.
April 18 – Funds are needed for super sweet penelope. she has;
-painful teeth that are hanging on with tartar, they are so bad
-hernia that has intestines, more than likely, falling though, creating a lump
-not spayed which affects her diabetes
-and oh yeah, she’s diabetic!
April 30:
* Bella’s Fund saw this posted and knew we had to help.. We offered to match up to $500 in donations and thankfully the donations started coming in.
Penelope had her surgery on May 8 and is recovering well with her foster mom, Karen Cotton
